TOURNAMENTS

Hartlepool United (7-a-side) – Sunday 29th June

An enjoyable day at Hartlepool saw Town play their best football early on in the group stage. Maximum points from a tough group saw them comfortably through to the semi-finals. Some excellent football brought wins against 21st Allstars, Richmond ‘B’, Brinkburn and Sunderland AFC 24/7 with Ben Murray, Dan, Brad Walker, Reece and Josh all getting on the score-sheet. Some confident displays from stand-in keeper Brad McCorkell and good defending from Jack, Richard & Jordan at the back ensured only one goal conceded all day. After some great football early on, Town never really got going in the latter stages. They never looked troubled in the semi-final but needed a goal from Dan in the second-half to overcome Deerness Valley. In a tight final against Richmond ‘A’ defences were generally on top and Town’s forwards just didn’t create enough as the match finished 0-0 after extra-time. Congratulations to Richmond, who took the honours after their keeper made two great penalty saves in the shoot-out.

Corus Cup (11-a-side) – Saturday 5th July

I am expecting the 12 players at the Presentation evening to play on Saturday. Those who didn’t attend will need to contact me if they wish to play. Venue is Teesside Athletic FC, Green Lane, Redcar. We need to be there for 9:00, so please meet at Kings Arms 8:15. Please wear blue strips, but if anyone still has a white shirt could they please bring it with them on the day. This is the last of our post-season Tournaments so I’d also like to complete as many player registrations as possible for next season. For this you need to bring along 2 passport size photographs and a fee of £10. I will bring along a camera for the player photos if parents are OK with this.

Presentation Evening

Thanks to all who attended and contributed to a successful evening. Sqaud trophies were particularly well deserved for all the players but congratulations also to the following players for their individual awards:
